Holy Cross Church, Binsted is situated in the middle of the Village, close to the Primary School and the Wickham Institute.  The current building dates from the 12th Century but it is believed there may have been an earlier Saxon church on or near the site. Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein KG, GCB, DSO, PC, DL, nicknamed "Monty”, was a regular worshipper at Holy Cross and is buried in the graveyard.
