There are a number of opportunities for young people to engage in church outside of service times.
During these uncertain times, we are meeting on Sunday evenings in person to chat, play games, watch films in between our current series on Mental Health and Wellbeing. Each week we will do something different to keep ourselves connected with each other and engaged in church. We also join in with the United events which are on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:30pm on Zoom.
UPAGEAR is for those who have completed the Youth Alpha course and want to dig deeper into the Christian faith. We meet as a group every 2nd and 4th weeks in Bentley Church Hall and attend Bentley's Live@5 services on the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month.
This term we have been following a series called At the Movies where we have a film night and enjoy a film together. In the following weeks we discuss and do various activities relating to the Christian themes found in the film to learn how to relate Christian values to everyday life. Last term we watched Bruce Almighty and The Lego Movie.
In and amongst all the fun, games, films and study, relationship is the key to how we do youth work and engage our young people with church.
Youth Alpha is a weekly course designed to introduce the basis of the Christian faith to young people. We haven't got a date for our next course but please conact us if you are interested!
Each week follows a programme to cover 13 different subjects following published course material adapted and delivered by Sam and Gemma. The Holy Spirit weekend is a highlight of the course - last year we had a sleepover in the church and went to the cinema.
